Trans characters as horrible villains is a tired fucking trope and until we have a lot more trans characters who AREN’T villains, who are protagonists and heroes and love interests and compelling reoccuring characters given voice and variety, it’s not fucking awful to say that they shouldn’t be villains anymore.
Yes, of course there are trans people that are terrible people in the real world and I think it’d be fine to have some trans characters as villains if they were given the same complexity, compassion, and VARIETY as cis characters but they’re so often turned into villains or sacrifices within the narratives they’re allowed to appear in at all and we deserve better than that. /:
When you say that trans characters can’t be villains you literally dehumanize them by saying that they can be just in positive light instead of knowing that there are evil people in the world that happen to be trans
