things tumblr has done in response to the porn bot and child pornography epidemic it hasn’t been taking seriously until literally just now:
automatically marking image sets as mature content if the color palette in them registered even as vaguely “skin colored”
deleting accounts seemingly at random, including high-traffic blogs.
making it so that any post at all with links in it will not show up in tumblr searches.
things tumblr has done that have actually been effective in removing porn bots and child porn blogs, rather than targeting random users with glued-together algorithms and bots of their own:
really love imagining a bunch a kids and teens on their pokemon journeys staying the night on the couches and floors in the lobbies of pokemon centers, having long talks about their experiences and feelings sharing funny and scary stories and myths about legendaries and trading items and sharing TMs along with sugary snacks and pokedex chargers all while their pokemon are out of their pokeballs and all bundled up in blankets sleeping soundly next to their trainers while they stare up at the stars shining through the glass ceiling over their heads
